SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON 2013 - Everything I Failed At Posting About

Ok, since I kinda messed up on the whole post everyday thing I shall do one long post now about the last 3 days of Comic-Con! Okay?

Friday- Day 2 of Comic-Con 2013 -
One of the coolest things was meeting this writer, Genese Davis, who was there promoting her book The Holders Dominion and I swear she is the nicest person ever. She actually spent like fifteen minutes explaining what her book was about and why she wrote it, what inspired her and she was just awesome, and then when she found out that I wanted to be a writer and everything she spent another 10 minutes talking to me about the writing process and everything. Needless to say, I bought her book. And I've started reading it and it's awesome I shall review it as soon as I finish reading it.

We kinda ran into Genese's booth on our way to one of the most important things that I wanted to do.....the Marissa Meyer signing where they were only giving out 20 advanced reader copies of Cress! I got there like an hour and a half early and was #13 I was so so happy/excited/fan girly =) But I got to meet her and got Cress plus my Scarlet and Cinder signed, and it was awesome. Plus the author dressed as Little Red in a totally none slutty way which is definitely a good thing in my books.

   - Now about the lines for book signings at Comic-Con. - The lines can get super long super fast, first of all. Now one way to recognize a line for a book signing is if over half the people in line are reading books, I'm serious. Also, if you ever find yourself in line for a book signing at some type of con like Comic-Con you will get people asking about what the line is for and more times than you can count when you say a book/author signing you will get a look, a look saying "WTF? What's wrong with you people?" followed by the 'What's a book?" look. Also, keep in mind that the people in line with you love the same things you do so don't be afraid to strike up a conversation. - The last thing was inspired by the fact that at every line I was in for an in booth signing like everyone in line would take turns running to other booths where they were giving away free books while the others held your place, it was so much fun. =)
All of that was followed by allot of spending too much money, mainly on art prints and t-shirts. I have a problem, and I am not ashamed to admit it. But honestly some of the coolest people I met and stuff I bought I got in artists alley, where most of the artists are there all day everyday signing their work and talking to you about it, it's allot of fun but can really make your wallet hurt. =(
I did do one more signing which was James Dashner singing ARC's of The Eye Of Minds, as you might know I have a love hate relationship with James Dashner books, I loved Maze Runner and kinda hated the other books in the trilogy (I got an ARC of Kill Order last year at Comic-Con and still cant bring myself to read it), I loved the first three 13th Reality books and absolutely hated the last one, but I figured I may as well get a free signed ARC of his new one, plus I had already been debating about buying it when it came out. So, I did go but I kinda rushed through and didn't really linger to talk because I didn't want him to ask if I'd read his other books because being the kind of person I am I would have told him my real thoughts on his other books, but I didn't want to go in and purposely tell him I hate the way he ends series, you know? I do this thing with his books where even if I hate them I cant help but buy them and read them, again I have a problem. But I guess that makes him a great writer, where even if you hate his work you always buy the books. =P

I think that's pretty much all for Friday I didn't really have time for panels and everything. =)
I did get some awesome ARCs, mainly while waiting in line for other signings. =)

Saturday- Day 3 Of Comic-Con 2013-
The first thing we did Saturday was to rush to the Harper Collins booth to get a ticket for the Allegiant poster signing and then we lingered for 20 minutes until they started lining up. But we did meet Veronica Roth and got signed Allegiant posters plus she was nice enough to signed my Insurgent! She's really nice and pretty. That was definitely my favorite thing from Saturday.
We really didn't do a ton Saturday because we were so exhausted from the other two days and we decided to leave early to rest up for Sunday.
So, we wandered around for awhile longer and did a couple comic signings and then we went to this Dragon Writer's Tribute To Anne McCaffrey for my mom because those are like her favorite books ever and we wanted to get her a signed book, but that was really cool and we all got signed copies of the book and everything.

See I told you my Saturday was lame! =) I feel like I'm forgetting something but I cant remember what!

Sunday - Day 4 (The last and final) Of Comic-Con 2013 -
Sunday was my favorite day because there was a ton of book signings! I think it was 12:30 to 5:00 back to back signings which was really awesome and fun but exhausting especially when you have between 6 and 10 books to get signed at each one. =) Before them we just wondered around buying the last few things we wanted to pick up before it was too late.
I'm trying to remember which order the signings were, so don't blame me if I get them a bit mixed up. =)
The first was Mark Frost (Paladin Prophecy), Tahereh Mafi (Shatter Me), Ransom Riggs (Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children), and Veronica Rossi (Under The Never Sky)

Now I bought new copies of all these books at the signings, which is incredibly stupid I know, and so they were sold out of Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children and so I got Talking Pictures^. Now I shall quickly explain my reasons for buying new copies to get signed. First of all it is extremely heavy carrying all these books around and I didn't want to have to lug them all the way to San Diego and then to Comic-Con and everything. Secondly I have a condition that my brother lovingly refers to as me being a book nazi meaning that I cant stand it when a book gets messed up or a page bent or ripped, now while I am working on getting over this condition it is extremely hard! So there's that, I want my signed books to stay perfect so once I get them signed I don't want to read that copy, so say I get my copy signed and then I want to re-read the book I'd have to go out and buy a new copy of said book so as not to ruin the signed copy. Again I am working on getting over this problem because it is mildly ridiculous and highly expensive. =)
But yeah all the authors were awesome and I might of fan girled a little bit. =)
The next signing was like the most important and that was D.J. Machale who is one of mine and my brothers all time favorite authors the only thing that sucked was that they weren't selling copies of Pendragon! Noooooooooooooo!! But it was still one of the coolest parts of the whole trip, he is so awesome but he was really surprised when he learned that I had read the whole Pendragon series the whole Morpheus Road trilogy and Sylo apparently he doesn't get that often? Also Margret Stohl was at that signing yet another awesome author. -

No Joke one of the things that made me most happy about the D.J Machale signing was that he signed one of the books with "Hobey Ho" =)

And then there were two. The next signing was Brandon Mull (who I actually met last year at comic-con at a signing), Anne Aguirre (Enclave), Eve Silver (Rush), Kami Garcia (Unbreakable) -

As you may notice I didn't get book 3 in the fablehaven series and that because I got that one signed last year.

And lastly there was the signing with Amy Tintera (Reboot), Marie Lu (Legend (Who I Also Met last year) ), Brandon Sanderson (lots of things), and Micheal Johnston (Frozen) also, Melissa De La Cruz (Frozen) who wasn't supposed to be there but ended up there. =) -

And that is pretty much everything. Of course there was other stuff and it was so much more awesome and exciting then I make it seem but there is some of the highlights. Also on Sunday I had somewhat of a Stormtrooper stalker. =)
