Top Ten Tuesday #15:Ten Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't

Hosted by The Broke and The Bookish

Topic - Ten Books I Almost Put Down But Didn't
Thoughts - I found this topic kinda hard because most of these I ended up hating and more so than that a lot of the time if I am seriously considering putting a book down I do, so all together there's not many books that I could put on this list.

  • Oblivion - This one I am glad I didn't put down because despite a fairly boring middle it was still a really good ending to this series. My review
  • Crocodile Tears - This is the eighth book in the Alex Rider series and I started this series when I was like 13 and my brother was obsessed with them, they started my obsession of spies and my need to meet one in real life(the #2 thing on my bucket list) and the 7th, Snake Eyes, was like the best and this was such a disappointment, I came close to putting it down multiple times but eventually made my way through it.
  • Scorpia Rising - 9th and final Alex Rider book - See above^ also that ending? Just why?

  • Tigers Voyage -You may not know this about me but I have developed a deep deep hatred for this series, this is the last one I read and yeah, it wasn't good for my metal health or physical because I kept wanting to bang my head into the wall, but alas I did finish it. My review
  • Matched - Okay I agree that the author writes beautiful but that doesn't make up for a boring non existent plot and that is why I nearly put this book down. My review
  • A Confusion Of Princes - I got this book for free+a signed poster at Comic Con and my brother pestered me until I gave him the poster and he loved the book so I read it to see if i would regret giving him my singed poster, I didn't. I used to think we had the same taste in books, I was wrong. I didn't put this down because he loved it so much and really wanted me to read it but I really wanted to, why? Mainly because it was boring.
Well that was 9, good enough! Don't forget to leave links in the comments and I will come visit your TTT posts!

  1. I actually ended up giving up on the Matched series. I just could not connect with it! Great list :-)

  2. Aww i've always wanted to read Matched! I've seen it everywhere in bookstores!! I understand how it feels to nearly put down a book that doesn't interest you!

  3. Your first book was a shocker because...guess what book is on my nightstand?! I better take a look at your review now and see why.

  4. I've heard such good things about the Matched series, and I've been wanting to read it, but now I'm not sure. Beautiful prose does not make up for a crappy story.
    Really interesting list.

  5. Awe, These Broken Stars. <3 Lol. Definitely not everyone will love a book. I thought Falling Kingdoms was good, not great. I went to read the sequel not to long ago and realized I'd forgotten almost everything. :/
I really liked Matched. But I think it's good you didn't continue on with the series, because it would have gotten even worse for you after not liking the first book.
I do a lot of DNF'ing now too. I feel that if I'm not caring by 25% than why waste my time.
    Happy reading!
Thanks for stopping by earlier! :)

  6. The only one I've read is Matched, which I did like. I feel like I would not like These Broken Stars at all, but the cover keeps trying to entice me. Also, good for you for putting the book down. I wish I did that more often, rather than forcing myself to finish! Why bother?
