Rora yearns for his attention and wants to experience this so-called love that could possibly end her long suffering and inspire her to chase after her dreams.

My Rating: 5 stars
Review: Where to start? I really really loved this book. To give you an idea of how much I loved it let me explain how I came to read it: So when I got this book I opened it on my kindle mainly to see how long it was and maybe read the first chapter, this was at about 11 at night...I didn't put it down until I'd finished it at about 2:30 in the morning... I literally put off going to the bathroom(tmi?) because I did not want to put it down. So, seeing as how all this review is likely to be is me gushing over this book we're gonna keep it short and sweet, kay?
The Short(sorta) and Sweet Version - Basically this book is awesome and everything you could possibly want in a contemporary book. Swoon worthy boy? Check. Awesome, if sometimes infuriating, main character? Check. Emotional drama? Check. The serious stuff(as in death, suicide and self growth)? Check. Awesome lyrical snippets? Double check. Oh and last but not least, awesome friends and a side of boy drama? Check and check.
I immediately feel in love with the main character, Aurora, and likewise with all her friends and band mates, and of course Daegan. Recently I've fallen in love with contemporary love interests less and less but with Daegan, the moment he entered the book, I was a goner. This book pulled on my heart strings and gave me all the feels, even had me cringing in sympathy once or twice. Yes a few times I got annoyed with Aurora, and Alex(best friend who is in love with Aurora) and Milo(boy she's been in love with for 8 years), but it was never for very long and by the time the next chapter rolled around I had forgotten all about it.
I really loved Auroras emotional journey and her relationship with her aunt and her friendship with her band(and Emma). I also seriously loved Daegan, like I can't even explain how awesome and swoon worthy his character is but trust me if you read this book you will love him to.
Last but not least, I loved the music. I loved Aurora figuring out everything and that she doesn't have to hide behind her guitar and I loved her dedication to music. Also, can I just say that Shane clearly has an awesome taste in music, I got so excited when Aurora and Emma(her best friend) were listening to 'Love Bites(So Do I)' by Halestorm, like way more excited than is normal. Also the lyrics, like I would totally listen to those songs, I love it so much when authors put actual lyrics to the songs that main characters are writing, it's just the best to me.
Okay, I'm going to stop now because so far this seems like a halfway decent review and if I keep going my fangirling side will appear and things will get ugly. Overall I just really really loved this book, the writing was superb, the characters were awesome and just I loved it.
Would I Recommend This? Hell yeah.
Who To? Contemporary and music fans.
Will I read more from this author(or series)? Of course.
