YA Summer Road Trip Tour Event+Giveaway!

So...what is the YA Summer Road Trip? Well it's road trip with authors Kasie West, Amy Tintera, Shannon Messenger and Debra Driza and it just happened to stop in my town!

So I will quickly recap the event and then we'll move on to the giveaway!

First just let me say that all four of these ladies are awesome, they were lovely and sweet. It was a blast. They started off by introducing their selves and telling us all a little about their books and then they played the game two truths and a lie, some of the highlights from this being Shannon's story about setting a fire and Debra's story about giving another author(Shannon) a copy of her book to read from that happened to have been peed on by a dog! They then proceeded to ask each other questions and then took questions from the audience a few questions that stood out to me were, of course, when a someone asked them what their favorite songs/bands were and whether they listened to music while writing. Shannon said that her playlists tend to have a lot of Paramore and Amy loves Mumford and Sons, while Kasie can't write when music is playing. Another question was what their favorite coffee drink is and it turns out Amy is the only one of them that drinks coffee. =)
My stack of awesome.

Swag.

Then there was the actual signing! I met Kasie West first and was admittedly a little star struck, fun fact while I've met quiet a few authors she's the first that writes contemporary, she was super nice. Next up was Amy Tintera, who I actually met last year at Comic-Con, and she was just as sweet as she was last time I met her. Then was Debra who was also nice and funny. And last but not least Shannon Messenger, who I've actually met before and didn't really know it, it was in 2012 at Comic-Con and she was in line behind me for a signing and I remember she was passing out bookmarks and stuff for her book(Keeper Of The Lost Cities), I realized this while they were talking and I was trying to figure out why she looked so familiar. I never actually talked to her at Comic-Con but I remember listening to her explain her book to a couple people behind me. Anyways, obviously she was also super nice(as it seems that is my word of the day).

Favorite Moment- I did have a favorite moment and a favorite author I met and a favorite book that I got signed and that would be Kasie West(and On The Fence). So first she signed my copy of Pivot Point and she asked me if I was a writer(I don't know why she asked this but she did) and I said something along the lines of yeah actually I am, she asked what I wrote and I said "mainly fantasy" and she said she loves fantasy and I don't know if she writes this in every copy of On The Fence(because a lot of authors write the same thing in every copy they sign) but she wrote "Follow your dreams." and it was awesome. (P.s. don't tell me if she wrote the same thing in your copy(if you met her) just let me have my moment.)

So basically it was a ton of fun!

Giveaway! -
So you might know that for the last couple weeks I've had a poll of sorts open for people to vote on which two books I would get signed for this giveaway and now it is time to announce the books! So the top voted one was Reboot by Amy Tintera!
Next was a tie between On The Fence by Kasie West and Let The Sky Fall by Shannon Messenger but I kinda went with Mila 2.0 instead. =) This was in part because they quickly sold out of On The Fence and that there was only hardbacks of Let The Sky Fall left when I got there and I'm broke...so yeah. Paperback Mila it was!

So the giveaway, in case you don't know, is for what I like to call a box of awesome, that includes not two but FOUR SIGNED books! The books are: Sinner by Maggie Steifvater(Hardback *signed*), Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater(paperback *signed*), Reboot by Amy Tintera(hardback *signed*) and Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza (paperback *signed*)...so are you excited?
