NaNoWriMo 2014 Week 4 Update!

This is going to be a really quick update because I'm going to be doing one next week with a whole NaNoWriMo wrap up and I need to write!

NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month. The one month a year where thousands of writers across the world try to write a 50,000 word novel in just 30 days!

So, yes I've won NaNo(last week in fact) but it's not over! I don't feel like I've won because I still haven't finished my novel! Yes, I feel slightly satisfied and I'm proud I already won but I don't have that feeling of winning, that relief and excitement at having finished a novel because I AM NOT DONE!

But everything is fine. Everything is awesome. I have two days and I will finish or I will not sleep at all and I will give away all my books and my brother will burn my Fall Out Boy concert tickets and I will cry and all the puppies in the world will also cry and I'm really tired while writing this post...

Yes. So I will finish in time, I will have written the last sentence of my novel by midnight Sunday, before December officially starts! I'm really not that worried, because I'm pretty close to being done and besides it wouldn't be NaNo without the final, exhausting, sprint to the finish line!

So my advice to you is; whether you are NaNo-ing or trying to accomplish some other goal before the end of the month, it is not too late! The final sprint might be the hardest, but it's the most rewarding

  1. Not the puppies!!!!

But wow, CONGRATS on finishing. You are baller. I gave up at 20,000 words BUT I'm planning on finishing my whole novel (which will most likely be 80,000 words). To be fair, this was a book I'd been working on since June, which I just delegated as my Nano book. Hehehe. I'm not a fast writer...I've accepted this.

Are you planning on querying this book or entering it into pitch contests?!?! or Beta'ing?!?! Keep us updated! Super excited for you :)))

    1. Not everyone can write fast, I honestly didn't know I could write so fast, most the time I can't!

I am planning on querying it! As soon as possible and I'm also going to be looking for beta readers soon...I haven't completely decided how I'm going to do that beyond posting here!

Thanks so much and good luck finishing your novel, it sounds so awesome! =)

  2. Congrats again on winning! I understand, it's not over until you get to type the end. You don't have to write the entire book in November, just 50k, but I understand your wanting to be done. I wish you luck!
