New Blog Design!

Um...so... I changed my blog design again... =D

So, one day I was just scrolling through checking out my favorite blogs, reading some posts, when I see that Sarah @ OneCurvyBlogger makes custom headers. Not only that but some that she makes just for fun but doesn't end up using for her own, she sells them for only $10. I saw the one she labeled Comic Nuts and I just loved it so much, so I bought it. And then I redid my blog to match it...and I kind of love it? Yeah. I definitely love it. I mean it combines two of my loves, books and comics!

So, that's the story of my new blog design. Sarah also did my new blog button over on the side of the blog and she's super awesome and nice and you should at the very least check her blog out because she's also a really cool blogger.

When's the last time you changed your blogs design(I do mine way too often)?

  1. IT'S SO COOL. I like how it gives me this comic-y vibe thing. Don't worry, I change my blog design way too often.I mean, I have only been blogging for a year, and I've changed the design more than 5 times. (... which I know I should stop...) I love visiting blogs and seeing new designs. This was a surprise :P

    1. Haha, thanks. Yours are always so subtle though so you don't have to stop! I love just looking at pretty blogs, I change mine when I don't love looking at it anymore. =)

  2. Yayayy that's awesome! I have to agree it does look very comic-y hahaha. I used to change my blog design a lot but now I don't have time, and plus I'm content with mine already. Haha.

    1. I love the comic-y ness of this one, and I love that it's more open than my old one...if that makes sense, so I think I'll be sticking with it for a while. =)

  3. Love it! It's cute & clean & easy to navigate - all things I appreciate, haha. I was working off a super basic template before hiring Stephanie @ These Paper Hearts to design a whole new blog design. She was amazing to work with - and now I'm set for life, haha. She also helped with some blogger questions I had b/c I am the most inept at like....coding or whatever.

    1. Haha, that's one thing I like about it too, my old design and layout was feeling too cluttered(like my room actually). And actually I have to argue that I'm the most inept at coding or HTML or whatever, it literally took me hours to figure out how to set up a blog button. I fist tried like 7 months ago and then gave up and didn't try again for weeks. =)

  5. I. LOVE. THIS. Oh my goodness, it looks WONDERFUL! I am so happy for you! I must add your new button :)

As for your question? Way too often. I am never satisfied. I had bought a pre-made blogger design about a year ago, and I liked it, for awhile (longer than I have liked anything else!) but then when I moved to WordPress, it just didn't do it for me anymore. So I changed it myself to what it is now, but.... I don't love it. At all. So I contacted Hazel @ Stay Bookish for a big old blog redo. She said she should have the mock up ready by late March/early April so... hopefully soon!? I want to order new business cards for BEA so I hope it's done in time, fingers crossed!

But seriously, this is so perfect for you! I think it fits the personality of you and the blog, AND I think it is very visually appealing. Nice work, Shay and Sarah!!!

    1. Haha, I'm glad you think so. Change always worries me!

Oh my god, you're re-doing yours!? I can't wait to see it! It's just too much fun redoing things and it's like outfits, I mean, you're not an animated character, you don't want to wear the same clothes every day so why should your blog have too???

That's what I feel too, the comic like theme is almost whimsical which I feel fits me perfectly. I also like that it's more open and I de-cluttered it, it was too serious looking before, with all the dark red colors! And I couldn't not add the Book Nerds Assemble part to header, which is kind of my favorite thing ever. =)

    1. Seriously! It can be so time-consuming but so much fun! I spend a week or more after updating going through and changing little things that I just know NO ONE ELSE EVEN NOTICES! =)
