Retelling The Story: Weekly Update #1

So...I'm trying out another weekly update type thing. I did it for awhile but then I stopped... I'm hoping it might help stay more on track with blogging. I wanted to come up with a new name instead of just Sunday Weekly Wrap Up though I am stilling linking up with these two epic memes:

The Sunday Post

&

Stacking the Shelves

I went with Retelling The Story: Weekly Update which I decided on when I opened this post...I might keep it... I might not... I might make a cool graphic for it... I might forget... I should really stop doing this... Now. =)

Recently In My Life: It's Camp NaNoWriMo!!! That's what I've been doing. So I did a post talking about what I was going to be writing and my goals, the post was a lie, I started a differen novel, and it's Middle Grade Magical Realism and it's so much fun! I challenged myself to stay up all night writing... I tried to it day 1 of NaNo, then Day 2, and I finally acutally did it Day 3 and it was a lot of fun. The house was complelete silent I had Oreos and coffee, I got really delirious around 4am and then crashed at eight but it was great.

I'm currently at about 16,000 words which means I'm two(three?) days ahead of schedule and I'm writing this on Saturday afternoon and haven't yet written for the day.

Reading wise, I've been so behind on reading! I made it one of my challenges to make sure I read at least one book a week during NaNo and I'm going to sign up for The Make Me Read It Read-A-Thon hosted by Val @ The Innocent Smiley and Ely @ A Book So Fathomless! Check out Val's post where you can link up and find out all about the read-a-thon here. Vote below and tell me what to read! Becuase, I am so behind. Luckily I've stopped requesting books because of this so that's a plus, right?

New Books/Read This Week:
Jeez me, this post is a mess! You have no new books!

I did read some this week though! I read a writing book, a comic book, and I reread a book.

Bridge To Terabithia made me cry, again. Teen Titan's A Kids Game is one of the BEST Teen Titians I've read, it's not orginal TT but it stars Tim Drake as Robin(one of the more interesting of the Robins) and still had Cyborg, Starfire, and Beast Boy, with a speical appearnce of Nightwing!(I really love the Teen Titian's and Nightwing is my ultimate comic book crush, okay?) Writing Magic is a really fun and short book all about writing by one of my favorite authors from when I was little.

Recently On The Blog:
I talked about the books I Re-read!
I reviewed Don't Ever Change and didn't like anything about it...

A Giveaway!
I'm hosting a small giveaway to celebrate Camp NaNoWriMo but no, you don't have to be participating to enter, you only have to be interested in winning a few writing related books. =)

Upcoming:
I have no idea! I'm thinking of getting back into TTT, which I haven't posted in forever. Probably a writing related post that you can feel free to ignore and..something else? Maybe? I don't know. I haven't been reading so I'm limited on things to review and I'm a mess, okay? =)

What should I read for the read-a-thon???

I'm going to say I will have time to read only two or three books, so here's a list of five, make sure to vote for what I should read below!

  1. MADE YOU UP! And yes, I shall be partaking. My second choice would probably be The Winner's Curse, just so you can get caught up. Then MHTN. And YAY for being ahead of schedule with Camp NaNo! That is fabulous! I hope you have a great week and that you continue to have success with the writing!

I was going to join...but. I'm lazy. hehe. No, no, really I need to focus on some editing and I don't like to rush editing, so hopefully I'll be starting that this month. ;-)

    1. Haha. I heard all the good things about it too! Thanks, Cait. Editing is important to, very important, I'm using NaNo as a break from editing actually because it feels like it's all I've done recently! I know, just thinking about it makes me sob. =(

  4. I voted for The Winner's Curse, but I also think you need to read Made You Up. Both are amazing. And good luck on Camp NaNo, I hope you'll keep on writing as much. :) My week was pretty good, although it's so freaking hot outside. And my vacation is finally here, so I'm hoping to get a lot of reading done this month. :)

    1. So many books to read! I wish I had super speed and I would use it only for reading. =) I think Winner's Curse is going to win though so I will definitely be getting to it with Made You Up second. =)

  6. I loved Made You Up! It definitely made me guess which things were and weren't true along with the main character.
