The Best Reading Seasons

In my expert opinion, fall and winter are the best seasons, okay? Not only just in general but when it comes to reading. Why? Because in the summer you are dying from the heat and can't concentrate enough to read but during the winter it's freezing and you have a nice warm blanket and want to do All The Reading.

So, why are fall and winter the best reading seasons?

Because: Pumpkin Spice

Pumpkin spice mix can be bought at the store, however, you most likely have all you need to make it at home. From inspiredtaste.net | @inspiredtaste:

Because: Rain

Reading in the Rain:

Because: Warm blankets, snow, and fire places

Hogwarts / Christ Church Oxford at Christmas:

Because: Look outside, the world is pretty again

Because: Candles

Because: hot chocolate and apple cider

I made this cider for Christmas Eve service at church and it was the first thing gone. I reduced the sugar to 1 Tsb. and after heating it on the stove, transferred it to a crock pot, taking the orange out, and adding another orange (sliced) and another pinch of nutmeg after transferring it to a crockpot.:

Because: Left over Halloween candy

Okay, I've made my point, I think. So what's your favorite reading season?

  1. I'm kind of jealous that you have fall and winter seasons because they never happen in Manila. I've experienced winter already on a trip abroad, and I honestly don't like it because I'm adapted to the heat (and I get sick easily haha) :P But I have to agree that reading would work best during winter because you get to tuck yourself in a warm blanket and cuddle next to a fire :)

My favorite reading season is actually rainy season! :) For some reason, I find the rain kind of relaxing while reading and most books I read fit well with the weather for some reason :P Lovely post Shay!

    1. Exactly! Cuddling by the fire, with a cat. You must experience this one day, Jillian! And yes, rain is awesome too! Listening to the water fall, and everything's kind of dark and dreary, makes a great reading atmosphere. =)

  2. Fall and Winter are my favorite reading seasons as well. Especially winter though, since I'm not a big fan of being outside in the snow. Oh, and I love that HP picture, it makes me long for Christmas. :)

    1. Me too! Harry Potter = Christmas, that's why I picked that picture! I'm already planning on re-reading HP in December. =) You don't like being in the snow? Blasphemous. Maybe you haven't been doing it right? Remember, you're never to old for snow ball fights. =D

  3. Oh yes, I love cuddling with a book when it's cold outside while I drink something hot. Pumpkin spice for the win! :)

    1. Pumpkin spice for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, on a scale of 1 to 10 how much do you love pumpkin spice?

But yes, nothing beats curling up with a blanket, some pumpkin spice, a cat, and, of course, a book. =)
