13 Posts Of Halloween 2015 #6: Fears

13 Posts Of Halloween will be taking place all month here at The Story Goes... with 13 Halloween related posts!

So we could be serious and I could go on and on about how I'm scared of failure (which, I mean, of course) but who wants that? And isn't everyone? Instead I'm going to tell you six things that scare the bejebus out of me.

This does not need explaining, I think?

This one is complecated because actually my brother had a pet snake for a while and loved him, I wasn't even a little bit scared of him. But I'm terrified of snakes. I have an irrational fear that I'm just going to find them, like nesting under my bed one day or something.

Faceless people.
Meaning people wearing masks or hoods and you can't see their faces. I realized this when I went to frightmare last year, there's just something about someone looking so closely at your face when you can't see theirs, that's super creepy.

Okay maybe not anymore but have you ever seen Salem's Lot? It's a super creepy show (from what I remember) Okay, so I was like eight when that first came on TV and my family watched it together and it TERRIFIED me. I can't even remember what it's about anymore, but it was freaking scary, okay? I had one of the worst nightmares of my life that involved my mom being killed by a vampire who hid in my doorway and I wouldn't walk past my door or go in my room by myself for at least six months, I'm pretty sure it was longer though.

Dream things.
You know Nightmare On Elm Street? I'm not allowd to watch it anymore.

One year I was going to dress as the devil for Halloween. I was like eleven. My mom bought me everything, red cloak, red horns. The pointy trident. Then, about a week before Halloween, I got it in my mind that if I dressed as the devil for Halloween I would be taken over by a demon... My mom bought me a witch costume.

What are you afriad of?
*insert evil laugh here*

  1. Haha, I love this. Especially that you're not allowed to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street anymore. I usually stay away from that one too, even if I love it, it just scares the hell out of me. :) Some things that scare me are Sharks(!!! I'm definitely not allowed to watch Deep Blue Sea anymore. Or Jaws. Or Shark programs on Animal Planet), water, the Ghostface mask, zombies, and wasps. :)

    1. Yeah, Nightmare On Elm Street and I do not get along but it is SO good. Oh, sharks, that's a good one. Sharks are definitely terrifying but I think I'm probably a little more afraid of big bodies of water than what might be lurking in them. =) I LOVE the Ghostface mask! It's scary yes but I use it every year to scare people for Halloween. =)

  2. I am not scared of any of these I don't think! I mean, I don't LOVE spiders or snakes. Mostly I am scared of death and failure. But I will try to think of something more lighthearted too haha. I used to be scared of a LOT of stuff. But I think with age, maybe I am scared of less stuff, but MORE scared of the stuff I am really scared of? Does that make sense?

I give up! I have thought for like, 20 minutes, and I have to throw in the towel. I am endlessly scared of non-amusing things. Sorry! ;)
