#NaNoWriMo2015 Initiaion Ceremonies

Today, in honor of the first day of NaNoWriMo 2015 (which if you don't what if, first you obviously haven't been here long because I talk about it nonstop and second it's National Novel Writing Month wherein tons and tons of people spend the month of November trying to write a 50,000 word novel). Wow, that took longer than I thought. Anyway, I am letting you all be privy to my initiation ceremony....are you ready?

To start, you will need the following:

1 Hooded Cloak
1 Dark room
1 Sharp Pin
and 1 Dark Blue Candle (must be dark blue and don't forget something to light said candle with)

REMEMBER: You must be alone in your dark room with your cloak, pin, and candle

First:
Turn off all the lights in your room and shut blinds, thus creating the aformentioned "dark room"

Second:
Pull the hood up to hide your face

Third:
Light your candle

Fourth:
Prick your finger with your sharp pin

Fifth:
As your blood drips off your finger repeat after me...

I do solemnly promise to spend the month of November,
dedicated to my writing,
drinking all the coffee,
eating chocolate,
and to create something from my most vaguest of ideas
I pledge myself to my WIP
and the life of the NaNoWriMo-er
forever i shall write my words
30 days i have
please help me god

Or, if this is all too dark for you then follow these simple steps:

1. On November 1st (today) open your document
2. Stare at the blank document
3. Go make coffee (or whatever you prefer)
4. Get a snack
5. Procrastinate
6. JUST WRITE ALL THE CRAPPY WORDS AND BE PUMPED ABOUT IT DANGIT!

Good luck with NaNo everyone! And remember, you can't lose unless your total at the end of the month is 0! My NaNo profile if you want to be friends or just see what I'm writing!

If you aren't doing NaNo, what fun things have you planned for this month??? If are doing NaNo, tell me something about your novel!

  1. Hahahahha LOVE. So, on my first day, my word count is 2,094. Last year, my total for the MONTH was 400. So I consider this a win even if I don't write another sentence ;) But PLEASE, make me write another sentence!

Also, thanks for the Katniss inspiration. If Katniss can lead a revolution, I can probably write a few more words, no? ;) Good luck, I am off to check your progress!!

    1. Yay! I'm so excited for you Shannon! That's more than needs to be written in one day! Go you! I WILL make you write another sentence, I'm going to send you daily encouraging messages on the NaNo site (hope you check it often!). =)

Exactly! I put the Katniss gif there for your inspiration even, nothing inspires you like Hunger Games right? ;) I did pretty well yesterday, spending most the day working because I need to finish by the middle of the month! Other things to do this month. =(

  2. THIS IS SOO CUTE <3 So much love! Haha. I love how you even made a pledge for the whole NaNo thing :) I'm sadly not participating in NaNo because I have so much to do this month, and I'm probably going to fail once again the way I did in my first two NaNo projects :( Hopefully I can do one for next year! Good luck, Shay! Love your enthusiasm for this event <3

    1. It took me FOREVER to write this post so I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had to be in the right mood to be silly enough for it, especially the pledge, which is admittedly kind of lame!

Sad that you aren't participating. =( I understand though you've been like insanely busy! Thanks for the luck, Jillian! And I have endless enthusiasm for NaNo (especially when I've had coffee which I had like three cups before writing this post). =D
