Retelling The Story #12: I'm Back!!! And GIVEAWAY!

My short Christmas hiatus is over! And 2015 is ALMOST over??? How did that HAPPEN????

I've spent the last week hanging out with my family, baking a bazillion cookies with my mom, having a snow war with my brothers because we are grown ass adults, and watching loads of cheesy holiday movies. And now it's time to get back to things!

Things have been hectic here! I got sick all last weekend when I was supposed to be spending it baking Christmas cookies with my mom which just put us so behind schedule! We had a fairly big snow storm which almost stranded my oldest brother out of town for Christmas. We also had earth quakes which is just strange because while we get them here fairly often they're usually so infinitesimal that you don't feel them, it was weird and made the cats antsy for days!

But Christmas was good! As always we had pizza and chicken wings for Christmas Eve dinner and then went out looking at all the Christmas lights. My oldest brother tried to convince my other brother to streak down the street singing Here Comes Santa Claus. We found the world's biggest Nutcrackers and somehow managed to get lost in our own neighborhood... Also, when we stopped at the gas station for hot chocolate and cookies (you know, because why eat the ones we spent all week baking?), I'm pretty sure the cashier thought we were high or something...

LOOK at them!

Christmas was complete with a giant dinner, early morning presents, and multiple fights to the death... I bought the three of us marshmallow guns (because we're adults and needed them obviously) and then they cheated by using shovels during our annual snowball fight... I swear, we really are adults!

Reading wise! I've nearly finished my reread of Harry Potter, I got set back when I was sick because I can just never read when I'm sick! This month has mostly been rereads but I've gotten a few new books for Christmas that I'm excited to get to!

from my TBTB Secret Santa!

Blogging wise! I've done nothing! But I'm spending a few hours today just for commenting because I am so behind and so sad. Next week will be spent with end of the year posts and then we shall be back on schedule!

Giveaways:

My 25 Days Of Book Boyfriends giveaway and my 300 follower Twitter giveaway have both ended, I'll be picking winners really soon but in the meantime I have a fun end of the year giveaway starting!

I was talking to my friend Ally, my BWF (best writing friend) who is otherwise known as Penelope Grace the girl I used to run my writing blog with, anyway. We decided to kind of team up for a New Years giveaway, on her blog she's giving away some old books and here I'm giving away a preorder for one of my most highly anticipated books of 2016!

Enter her giveaway here!

I'm giving away 1 PreOrder of Bookishly Ever After by Isabel Bandeira!

21018154In a perfect world, sixteen-year-old Phoebe Martins’ life would be a book. Preferably a YA novel with magic and a hot paranormal love interest. Unfortunately, her life probably wouldn’t even qualify for a quiet contemporary. But when Phoebe finds out that Dev, the hottest guy in the clarinet section, might actually have a crush on her, she turns to her favorite books for advice. Phoebe overhauls her personality to become as awesome as her favorite heroines and win Dev’s heart. But if her plan fails, can she go back to her happy world of fictional boys after falling for the real thing?

Info/ Rules:

- 1 Preorder of Bookishly Ever After will be given away via the Rafflecopter below, it is International but only if the Book Depository ships to you! (find the list of countries here!)
- Ends on the 8th at 12AM
- Once I pick a winner you'll have 24hours to respond or I'll have to pick someone else!

Tell me all about your holidays! Did you do anything fun, just chill and hang out? Get any good books???

As for the question for the giveaway, tell me a fun/crazy/weird New Years Resolution mine is just a fun goal and it's to watch all 8 Harry Potter movies in 24 hours.

  1. Merry Christmas Shay! My holiday was just all about chilling and hanging out with the family. :D We don't have snow here though, just daysss of ridiculous heat. My crazy New Years Resolution is to spend only $100 on books, haha. I don't know how well that'll go but I'm going to give it a shot!

  2. Your Christmas sounds amazing. I wish I could've seen that snowball fight. :P I've had a great Christmas as well. I got some great books, spent time in my family's cabin, and watched a few movies. But now I'm home, and it feels great to just be and have some time to read. Haha, and about your New Year's resolution.. I tried that once, but I just had to sleep some after the sixth movie. I wish you all the luck, and please tell me how it went. :D

  4. This year I made a 2015 highlights video (which is self-explanatory) so for 2016 I have a fun resolution which is to film more so I could include more for the 2016 highlights video :)

  5. Every year I try to make my New Year's Resolution to push myself a little harder to learn something new in baking. This year I learned how to crack an egg with one hand for both my left and right hands. This next year I think I am going to teach myself how to make profiteroles.

  10. COOKIES! (Sorry, that is about what I got out of this, I am tired and this tab has been open for DAYS ;) ) The ornament for you and your mom is SO cute! I am sorry you were sick too, especially over Christmas :(

I have no idea what my goals/resolutions will be yet. I mean, there's the vague "be happy, change my life for once" sort of thing, there's the "be productive" sort, and then there's the ridiculous, which are probably the only ones I will keep. For instance, I want to start using emojis inappropriately on Twitter. Not in a vulgar way, just like "Happy Birthday! ::insert emoji of eggplant and a flashlight:: So... there's that ;)

  11. I just started going to different places along with my best friend and I think going out more would be a fun new year's resolution as I always seem to stay at home and close myself off to the world. Now, I'm building up courage to explore more and come out of my shell. :)
