On Repeat #3: Janurary 2016

This is a new feature where once a month I will share the top ten songs I've had on repeat!

For this month's On Repeat I decided to share a playlist of songs that really inspired the book I'm working on. Mostly because that's what's been on repeat all month and because everything else I've had on repeat is just a repeat (haha see what I did there?) of the last two months. Also, today I was supposed to post something writing related and ha, I did.

A few thoughts on specific songs:

The World Spins Madly On by The Weepies:

This is one of the first songs I added to the playlist for this book way back in November 2014, and it's funny only because it took me until like August of 2015 to figure out this was my books theme song. There was something on Twitter about the theme song to your current WIP and I spent like two days trying to figure it out and then it kind of hit me over my head. This is the song I put on repeat anytime I get stuck on a scene or when I just really need to concentrate on this book.

Dance, Dance by Fall Out Boy:

True story, I used to hate Fall Out Boy (strange only because they are now like my favorite band ever). But when I started planning out this book one of the first things that came to me was that one of the main characters loved music and their favorite band was Fall Out Boy. So I listened to a TON of Fall Out Boy, I even went to see them the week after I finished writing the first draft.

Where'd You Go by Fort Minor

I'd just been to a Linkin Park concert right before I decided to write this book so Linkin Park and Fort Minor songs played a big part in inspiring me while I developed the idea.

Numb by Linkin Park

This is basically my MC's theme song throughout most of the book.

Your turn! What songs have you recently had on repeat??
